VIRTUAL HEARINGS DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC FOR CONTESTED MATTERS IN THE MARSHALL-TYLER-BEAUMONT-LUFKIN DIVISIONS

Full Announcment:

For the foreseeable future, in an alteration to normal court operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, PLEASE BE ADVISED that hearings on contested matters in cases assigned to Judge Parker in the above-referenced divisions will be conducted by virtual means through the Microsoft TEAMS platform.  Trials of adversary complaints are being handled on a case- by-case basis.  
Until such time as such links can be transmitted via the hearing notice, the TEAMS link to the virtual hearing on a scheduled docket day or by special setting is being transmitted via email by the applicable courtroom deputy to: (1) all parties with active pleadings in the particular contested matter, through their attorneys or directly to pro se parties; (2) the assigned case trustee (if any); and to any party who has filed a Notice of Appearance or Creditor Request for Notice in the case.  Additional parties-in-interest seeking the meeting link to join a particular virtual hearing  must contact the applicable courtroom deputy:

Each virtual hearing shall be conducted pursuant to the directives located on Judge Parker's webpage on the Court's website, www.txeb.uscourts.gov/content/judge-parker under the Virtual Hearings tab.   In particular, those directives require that any proposed exhibit sought to be admitted by a party should actually be attached to such party’s witness and exhibit list filed pursuant to LBR 9014(d)(2).  Further, any sponsored witness must:  (1)  join the hearing as a separate participant from the sponsoring attorney;  (2) using a different camera and microphone than the sponsoring attorney; and (3)  be capable of accessing any exhibit needed for the examination.
