What’s New with Pay.gov 8.9

Agencies are notified Pay.gov version 8.9 will be deployed to production on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 6 pm to 10 pm ET.  All Pay.gov services will be unavailable during the deployment window. Agencies will be notified by email once Pay.gov services are fully restored and available for general use. 

Enhancements

• Hosted Collections Pages Service Updated

• • HCP version 3.3 has been added to support PayPal shipping addresses that include special characters.
  • HCP supports the Romanian language. The language code is RO_ro. 
• Web Services Allow Longer eMail Domain Names and New Special Characters
  • Pay.gov now accommodates email domain names longer than seven characters.
  • The following special characters are allowed for the email address: + . # $ & ' * - / = ? ^ _ ` { | } ~

• Changes to Customer Support Phone Menu

• • The menu options for Pay.gov’s Customer Support phone number have changed.
  • Please remove menu option #2 from all communications and websites to ensure customers are routed correctly. Only the Customer Support phone number (800) 624-1373 should be provided.

• System Improvements

• • Pay.gov is implementing numerous changes to enhance availability and security. Additionally, Pay.gov software integrations and infrastructure components are being updated.
