NEW BANKRUPTCY FEES TO TAKE EFFECT JUNE 1

The Judicial Conference has approved amendments to the Bankruptcy Court Miscellaneous Fee Schedule. New filing fees for bankruptcy cases and for filing a complaint in an adversary proceeding will be effective June 1, 2014.

The current $46 administrative fee for chapters 7, 12, and 13 will increase to $75. The current $46 administrative fee for chapters 9, 11, and 15 will increase to $550.

As a result, the new filing fees will be as follows:

Chapter 7 - $335
Chapter 9 - $1717
Chapter 11 - $1717
Chapter 12 - $275
Chapter 13 - $310
Chapter 15 - $1717

The fee for motions to sever/divide a joint debtor case for individuals for chapters 7, 11, 12, and 13 will be the same as this new filing fee.

**The fee for filing a complaint in an adversary proceeding is being raised to $350 from $293.
